What the ‘Hatch’! These peppers are popular!
Well, it could be their short season – only 6 weeks during August and September. Or maybe its their wonderful and very unique flavor. Either way, they are definitely all the rage this time of year. And I thought it might be worthwhile to get to the bottom of these popular peppers.
Let me start off by saying “Yes, I realize this looks like a very odd combination”. But, trust me on this – you will love it. If you live in the south, you should be able to find candied jalapeños near the pickles at most grocery stores. Sweet and spicy pickles work well as a substitute. The pimento cheese recipe is actually ‘red pepper’ cheese.
The countdown to the Super Bowl is on. And whether or not your team is playing, you’ll still need some good snackin’ to go along with the outrageous commercials and all the fun!
Now, if it were up to me, I’d put out a spread of girly apps with fresh fruits and cheeses like this Blue Cheese and Bacon Dip with Apple Slices for instance….
