I love salsa and have tried MANY recipes. This one is now on the top of my favorites list. I boiled my own shrimp and then ran them under cold water to cool, but you could buy pre-cooked shrimp and save a step. Either way, it was cool, fresh, beautiful, and delicious!

Shrimp Salsa



  • 1 pound cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 cup red onion, diced
  • 1 jalapeno, seeds and veins removed, diced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 lime, juiced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro
  • kosher salt and pepper
  • hot sauce, optional
  • tortilla chips


  1. Chop the shrimp and place into a medium sized bowl.
  2. Add tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, and bell pepper.
  3. Toss to combine.
  4. Juice the limes one at a time into the bowl. Taste as you go. If you like the tartness of ceviche, you’ll probably want to use both limes. Otherwise, one or one and a half will do.
  5. Season with salt and pepper and add a dash or two of hot sauce.
  6. Serve with tortilla chips
