Rich creamy sauce with tender peas and ham throughout. Oh my, YUM! This is sure to become a family favorite. And I have a feeling you'll never buy another jar of Alfredo sauce again. Enjoy!

Creamy Orecchiette with Ham and Peas

SERVINGS : 4 PEOPLE PREP TIME : MINUTES

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 ounces Orecchiette pasta
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 2 bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen peas
  • 1/2 pound ham steak, diced
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • kosher salt and pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup pasta water.
  2. Heat half-and-half and bay leaves over medium heat. Simmer, but do not boil, as liquid thickens a bit.
  3. Stir in peas and ham.
  4. Remove bay leaves.
  5. Once warmed through, stir in parmesan. Cook until smooth.
  6. Toss in cooked pasta. If the mixture is too thick, thin it out with a bit of pasta water.
  7. Adjust seasonings with salt and pepper and serve.

Garlic Parmesan Rolls

SERVINGS : 4 PEOPLE COOK TIME : MINUTES PREP TIME : MINUTES

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 heat and serve rolls
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese, grated

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven according to package directions.
  2. Melt butter. Stir in garlic salt.
  3. Place the rolls on a baking sheet and brush with garlic butter.
  4. Sprinkle with parmesan.
  5. Bake according to package directions.

Arugula Salad

SERVINGS : 4 PEOPLE PREP TIME : MINUTES

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups arugula
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • kosher salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan (shaved)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place arugula in a large salad bowl.
  2. Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice, sprinkle with kosher salt and pepper, and toss to combine.
  3. Garnish with parmesan.

VEGETARIAN TIP: Skip the ham and add more veggies if you’d like.

    I smashed a couple big cloves of garlic and added them in with the bay leaves to add some more garlic flavor (which we love). Took them out with the bay leaves. This would have been super awesome if I’d paid better attention and noticed my pasta wasn’t done enough when I put it in with the cream sauce. Next time!

    This was tasty! Just be sure not to boil the cream after you put the cheese in like I accidentally did. The cheese curdled so the dish wasn’t very pretty but it still tasted good!
